March 5, 1902 Letter "To Whom It May Concern"

Higginson writes a letter of recommendation for Louise Lawrence. She had been a friend of the family for some years, and perhaps a particular friend of Higginson's daughter, Margaret. A tireless advocate for women's education, Higginson expresses his pleasure in being able to recommend Miss Lawrence for positions in education.

To whom it may concern

I have much pleasure in saying
that I have been well acquainted with Miss Lawrence
from childhood and she has always been a
faithful and devoted student and can be relied
upon to do well and thoroughly any educational
work which she attempts.

Thomas Wentworth Higginson
